Large videos are hard to email, upload or store. Filenivo’s video compressor reduces the file size of your clips so they fit within attachment and upload limits, while keeping them watchable.

Some quality loss is unavoidable when reducing size, but lowering the resolution slightly (for example from 1080p
to 720p) often saves a lot of space with little visible change on a phone screen.
High resolution, high bitrate and long duration all increase size. Phone videos recorded at 4K are especially large.
H.264 in an MP4 file is widely supported and compresses well. H.265/HEVC can be smaller but is not supported
everywhere.
Lower the resolution, reduce the bitrate and trim unneeded parts. See our guide on compressing video to 8 MB
for a bitrate table.
1. Upload your video file.
2. Choose a quality level or target size if available.
3. Start the compression and wait for it to finish.
4. Download the smaller video and play it to check quality.
File size is roughly (video bitrate + audio bitrate) x duration / 8. To make a video smaller, you can lower the
bitrate, reduce the resolution (for example 1080p to 720p), shorten the clip or lower the frame rate. Resolution
and bitrate have the biggest effect.
